J. Alex Boone
Alex joined Royer Caramanis PLC in July 2025 and practices in the areas of civil litigation and business law. Alex represents clients in a wide variety of matters including commercial litigation, construction litigation, property/zoning cases, landlord/tenant disputes.
Alex is a proud graduate of America’s first law school, William & Mary. While there, he competed and helped lead the moot court team to a number two national ranking. He also served on the editorial board of the William & Mary Environmental Law & Policy Review. During his third year, Alex tried cases with the York-Poquoson Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
Previously, Alex practiced law at a defense litigation firm in Charleston, South Carolina where he specialized in medical malpractice and liability defense in state and federal courts. He also represented healthcare providers in licensing and disciplinary proceedings.
Alex is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Defense Attorney’s Association, and the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Albemarle County Parks Foundation.
A native of Botetourt County, Alex lives in Charlottesville with his fiancé, McKay, a physician with UVA Health, and their Goldendoodle, River. Alex is an avid UVA athletics fan, plays golf, and enjoys all the hiking, hunting, and fishing Virginia has to offer.
